I've had to start over so many times
I'm unfamiliar with the follow through.
My only examples were missteps
but I learned to follow you.
Cold looked strong from the window
on the outside of your storms
So I relinquished my warm.
I learned how to move on,
how to never need more
than I could provide myself.
I learned how to never get
besides myself for anything
outside myself, because
outside of myself is where
disappointment lived.
Omnicient was my mission
And I became addicted to
self sufficient.
Until I failed myself a few times
and I found myself fishing for
something more reliable than me.
